Known Facts:
A woman is physically abused every 9 seconds .
Battering is the leading cause of injury to women in
the United States,
more then rape, mugging and auto accidents
combined.
Between 15-25% of pregnant women are battered.
Domestic crime against adults accounts for almost 15% of total crimes
Child abuse is 15 times more likely to occur in families where a parent is battered.
